me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Gospel Choir Competition

The Wintergarden down at the World Financial Center hosts a lot of free cultural events, and this one was a doozie. Gospel choirs large and small, from as near as the Bronx and as far as South Carolina, competed in youth and adult divisions. The music went on all day. A great big echoing space for it, gorgeous sunlight sneaking between giant curtains, a good cup of tea whenever you needed one... what could be bad? The place was packed and the joint was jumpin'. Photos here.
