me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

I love New York

Snow last night, not much at all, just a light frosting. This morning in the backyards, fences outlined, steps dusted, tiny bits of snow on ivy leaves. Very bucolic. In the street, snow on the railings, the cobblestones, the windshields and rear windows of parked cars. And very early this morning -- or late last night -- someone went car-to-car, drawing, alternately, giant boobs or dicks on the rear windows. Boob-dick-boob-dick, all the way up the street. Like every car is suddenly gendered, staring with lust at the one ahead. I love New York.
