me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Career Day in Chinatown

Just back from Career Day at PS 124 in Chinatown. This is the third year I've done it. 65 or so adults come and talk to the 4th and 5th graders in groups about what it is we do all day, just to broaden their view of what they can be looking at as they get older. In my room, I -- the novelist -- the IT guy, and the 911 dispatcher were doing fine until we got totally upstaged by the balloon artist.

The morning ended with the presenters sharing a Cantonese lunch. A great day at PS 124, as it is every year.
