My House

So, here we are, it will be two years in October, (or is that three, now?)since we began addition building on the house, plus the new thirty-foot-long garage.

We are ruminating as to whether we will or will not begin the next phase of enlargement of the Mt Vernon House. If we do go ahead with the architect's $1800 revised plan it will cost us between 32 and 35 thousand additional bucks...and we already owe 92 thousand on what has now been done, some of which is still unfinished: the jacuuzi room needs trim work and the main bedroom needs wall and ceiling work and a carpet wash before I move the big bed into place.

No telling which way we will go, the upstairs attic thing or a total finished extra room up there with a bow and a bay window and a new external entrance to the upstairs up the steps from the new deck to the projected second floor deck. Or, maybe neither.

Maybe only a deck around the east side of the house with a ramp up to the point where it turns the southeast corner of the house by the huge maple tree outside the south face of glass double doors out the big room which is comprised of the new kitchen and living area, and we will be deciding on whatever within the next couple of weeks.

We decided to wait. No deck til the upstairs is done with the use of a scaffold.

Gathering of barnwood and purchase of a power washer for it to line the big main bedroom has commenced. The upstairs won't be begun until next spring or summer.

Finishing the Jacuuzi room and main bedroom wing will be the job of immediate concern for these cooling and colder months.
