I thought I'd done an entry for yesterday.

Yesterday was NOT a good day. My monitor quit.

I had a zillion things to do so I postponed its purchase till today, and set up my laptop in the dining room.

That was not as easy as it might seem, because the power cord is very picky and would not repond to the extension outlet near the table.

I hooked the laptop up today so I could view the weather map. "Inclement" is a good description, and I don't see much hope for clearing.

However, I spent yesterday afternoon building my burn pile, then dousing it with charcoal lighter and setting it aflame. I watched it burn from a nearby chair, with the garden hose on and ready to use.

My neighbor came over to admire the fire, asked how I got it to burn so well, then we chatted. She said she'd decided on a place for the treelets I'd given her, and it's in the back, along our property line. Let's hope they grow. A couple are flowering trees.

I didn't feel too good when I got up today. I did walk down to get the paper, but decided it would be in my best interests to skip church. I lay down on the couch, CC joined me, and we both had a nice nap.

Yesterday was the Crescent City Classic--a 10K race that starts in the French Quarter and ends in Audubon Park. It gets world class runners, and for the umpteenth year was won by a Kenyan.

There are all sorts of amateurs, including a group that runs in costume. Bringing up the rear are the wheelchair racers.

The weather being what it is, reading sounds like a good activity. Either that or tidying up.

Where's my book?
