I was awakened this morning by a nurse saying, "You're Sherry's mother!" She followed that with the reminder that I helped carpool her son.

It's noon and I've seen 2 PTs this morning (the knees work a bit better than yesterday) and the on-call orthopedists, whom I've already met. He then sent the rehab physician over to see me. This doctor had been in an adult swim class of mine, so we were already friends. And, he's getting me moved over to the rehab section.

So far I've told almost everyone who's wandered through that I'm crabby today--which, of course, means that I'm getting better back to normal. Now I'm waiting for the primary care taking call to look at my throat, which is really really swollen.

Later:

She came, and she pronounced my throat problem "probably a fungus." And then we chatted a bit (we used to go to the same church.) It is really nice to have lived in a town 30+ years, especially if you're in a hospital.

12:15 and only one meal so far. Far different from Kenya with its tea four times a day.

The only way I'm aware that a major holiday spending spree is coming out is by the TV ads.
