Today was OD's sort of Open House for assorted friends and family, and it was really nice. YD collected me just after noon and we headed over there, but weren't quite the first to arrive. YD's husband and daughter had beaten us to it.

Anna (YGD) was underwhelmed by the unicorn. In fact, when it whinnied at her and shook its head, she cried. Scared by a unicorn. She'll get used to it on her own terms.

ODH's folks arrived and then more and people appeared. I knew a bunch of them, and got to meet a bunch more. And then the musician friends came, instruments in hand. After eating a bit, they settled down to play old time jazz music. ODH has a jazz band and once they played at the Jazz and Heritage Festival. They are really nice to listen to. What a nice way to spend an afternoon--visiting with people I hadn't seen for a while, with pleasant music in the background. And it was very nice to get out of the house.
