I had an interesting phone call this morning from someone I've know for more than 45 years. He worked with my husband at Rocketdyne and both men were sent to Cheyenne, Wyoming back in 1960. We became pretty good friends with him and his wife. We all left Cheyenne in 1962, going to other ICBM sites. In 1963 both families ended up here in Slidell, and the friendship was renewed. They were childless, and at that point we had just the one child. When Betsy came through (and my husband was in California) OD and I spent the night with them.

We moved on to Florida in 1968 but still kept in touch with them. Maybe ten years ago or so the wife died. The man kept in touch with a some of the old Rocketdyne crowd and phoned us a couple of times over the years.

Today he gave me a call to see how things were going and to just chat in general. We had a really nice long conversation and I filled him in on details of Katrina damage in Slidell. And, of course, my current "adventure."

It's nice to hear from old friends.
