The Who Dats are storming Chicago. No matter that the weather is colder than a witch's tit--they are there. (I suspect that they might be using internal antifreeze.) I gather that Chicagoans have never seen quite this type of fanship.

This morning several thousand gathered at the New Orleans airport to send the team off with lots of cheers. Airport officials figure the crowd greeting their return might hit 10,000.

I didn't leave the house today, so I didn't see the majority of the people in some form of black and gold. Tomorrow I shall make groceries early--but even then I'll be wearing a gold sweater and black blazer. (and slacks, of course) (and shoes, and socks)

Actually, I spent quite a lazy day. The cats were very cuddly, especially Fabian, and with him cuddled up against me . . . well, I've talked about reinforcing sleep brain waves. I woke up to a knock on the door. It was the woman who used to clean for me, and a friend. They were out doing their Jehovah's Witness thing. We talked a bit and got caught up on what each of us is doing. She is FINALLY out of her FEMA trailer and back in her house. That led to a discussion of how recovery is limited by labor, and thank goodness half of Central America is here, working hard and well.

In New Orleans, one TV station has set up a "Saints Central" area around their building. They have a huge area as a projection screen and the game will be telecast on that. This is outdoors, and since it may rain tomorrow they have added a bunch of tents. I assume that there will also be vendors with beverages of various alcholic content. (And Portolets.)

Today's Times Picayune had Saints stories on almost every page. The sports section was double its usual size.

All I can say is that if the city and people are this wound up for a playoff game, what will it be like if (when) the Saints win tomorrow? As a season ticket holder my name will go into the pool for Superbowl tickets. I'm not sure I can see myself heading for Miami if I'm in the lucky number, but I'm pretty sure I could find someone willing to buy them. ;)

I got the first of the W-2 forms today. This one is for the pension income. I think that's the only income that got tax taken out this year.

Be thinking Black and Gold tomorrow!
