I spent the better part of today with teenage pregnancy. Having had a baby at 16, this legislator knows from personal experience what can easily result from casual, unprotected sex. And it can happen just as easily to people in a "relationship."

She came up with the mantra "VIRGIN - it's not a dirty word." And worked tirelessly to get the message to kids about the price of teenage pregnancy. The statistics she has on long-term results of teenage pregnancy are mind-boggling. The odds of not living in poverty the rest of one's life are pretty slim.

However, by the end of the afternoon I was filing the materials about the advent of cruise ships docking in New Orleans. There was a lovely brochure with all the trips from a particular line, including prices. Gulp, unless you want a miniscule cabin without access to outside air.

But I finally feel as if I can see daylight about this one set of files.

No problems with traffic going into New Orleans, and no problems with traffic coming home. I did do a double-take on the HUGE tractor-type vehicle being transported in the opposite direction. Two motorcycle cops were ahead of it, keeping two lanes clear. It was that wide. It really didn't slow down the traffic very much. I wonder where it was going and what it is for.

It's getting more springlike here--nice temperatures. Hope it stays nice this weekend so I can get some more dewberries pulled out,
