Today was out to lunch day--the three women with their own offices who run the Women's Center, the secretary, and the new librarian took me and another woman who works a lot there out to lunch. The other woman just got married (they'd already been living together for a while) and she was given a small gift. I was given Serotonin--aka very nice specialty chocolate bars. But it was the going out together that was fun. At some point the conversation turned to flashers, and we got about to the brink of laughing uproariously.

This Sunday I've been invited to a ladies only thing by the Slidell Library librarian. Should be interesting to see old friends and acquaintances and learn what's been going on.

Back from lunch, working on material from Mary's run for Governor, and the librarian came back to my corner. Someone was on the phone with questions about a person who might be mentioned in some of Mona's papers. We decided that the simplest thing was for the woman to call me on my cell. We chatted a bit and then she came over to go over the records herself. Luckily, when I was first told about her inquiries a week or so ago I'd gone to my files, so when she got to the library I could pull out a couple of probably relevant boxes for her.

She was very interesting to talk to--she was trying to trace the descendants of the man who may have built her house (about 150 years ago.) She was there for more than an hour, and she left with several more names to check on.

The library is having a giant book sale this week out in the lobby, so of course I had to see what they had. I bought two Sherri Tepper books that look like YA books. OGD might like them as quick-read mind candy. After I read them of course.

Some parts of the country may be having nasty weaather, but not this area. And tomorrow should be more of the same.
