Work again--and I continue to make progress on the papers about Mary. In fact, I am 99% sure that I'll have her finished by the end of the week. I've got her run for Treasurer pretty well organized, and today I found myself running out of files relating to her race for Governor.

There is a Visiting Scholar from Brazil doing some kind of research here. She was here a year ago also and remembered me. Once she reminded me that we'd already met I recognized her. She has set up her "nest" in the same general area as mine.

Driving in this morning I found myself two cars behind a "nervous" driver--one who felt safe only if going 10 mph under the speed limit. And on the old bridge that meant he(?) was going 5 mph under the minimum speed. Luckily, when I merged into the interstate I was able to get out of his lane. All of us trapped behind him made a beeline for the far left--where the speed is about 80 mph. (It's posted at 70.)

I keep forgetting to mention the big sign that appeared in front of one of the lovely Gothic style churches I pass daily. It said PEWS ARE BACK!! They got them back just before Easter. How was that for timing? (and it took only 19 months!)

Another "different" sign: a fast foodery called Orleans Seafood, and one of the window signs says "Chinese."

And Rally's has a special Southwestern Hamburger.

Several weeks ago the food section of the Friday paper did a run-down on all the "mobile restaurants" currently in the area. The majority of them seem to have their own areas, and the paper let us know where they are usually parked. It also rated their food.

Today I read about Leonardo da Vinci in A Mind of its Own.
