I had a trying-to-be-clever entry in mind ten minutes ago--but now it's gone.

Was it about last night's noises? I don't think so. The only noise I heard was the lid to the cooler chest being pushed off, then a careful tearing of the bag of cat food inside. I assume it was that extremely clever raccoon. He must have a fantastic sense of smell, because that ice chest has been in the same place for months (like since about a month after Katrina) and it hasn't been opened--until there was food in it.

Maybe work? No, that was extremely quiet--the librarian is at her nephew's graduation and will be gone the whole week. The department secretary came downstairs and took care of emptying the dehumidifiers.

That was about it.

I chatted slightly with the person I think is a supervisor with the outfit that does all the cleaning and maintenance. We seem to be constantly running into each other at the rest room.

The building I work in has the library and a nice-sized lobby on the first floor. (It also has scads of storage for the archived material.) That lobby has a coke machine with about five choices . . . and it (the lobby, not the coke machine) has two restrooms. The majority of the men who come into the building are using either the coke machine or the rest room--or both.

(I still haven't remembered what I planned to write.)

I haven't finished reading Gravity yet. I've got too much left to finish it tonight, probably. Maybe tomorrow.

Speaking of which, maybe by then I'll remember what I was going to talk about today.
