Translation: more lawn weeding etc. But it's beginning to look a lot better. And I found some of the seeds I have around the house and tossed them along the newly weeded, grassless areas under the trees/bushes. We'll have to see if they sprout.

I've concluded the secret is to get out EARLY, while the yard is shady and the air not yet fully heated up. And to plan on an extended shower, with hair washing, afterwards.

I was up till almost midnight finishing up Relic. Good thing I was tired and fell asleep right away--too tired to dream about mutant monsters (killers, of course--they eat the brains of the victims to get the hypothalmus) as I dozed off.

This evening I'll finish up a much more relaxing book. It's one of Alexander McCall's charming mysteries about The Number One Ladies' Detective Agency. Setting is Botswana. This one has Zebra Lane in the title.

But, other than the sweaty yard work, it's been a basically IUD.
