. . . it's been an IUD.

It's cooled down a lttle, and I slept later than I usually do. Did the grocery shopping, gassed up the car, and came back home.

One of my "prize" purchases was a package of three round globe vanity lights--energy-saver type. I'd tried the regular fluorescent bulbs, but I didn't like the quality of the light. I looked sort of jaundiced. But these give a good light. They supposedly last 7 years and are three for almost $14. If they last even half that time they will be good buy. My bathroom is small, and the incandescants really heat it up in the summer.

I got a bag of dry dog food for the racoons. It costs a little less than the dry cat food. I'm sure they aren't fussy.

I found a great article in today's paper telling about the benefits of caffeine for older people. (The byline is Healthday News.)

It says that a study showed that "Women who drank three or more cups of coffee a day were 30 percent less likely to have memory decline at age 65 that those who drank one cup or less daily."

What about older women? "Women over age 80 who drank three or more cups of coffee a day were about 70% less likely to have memory decline than those who drank one cup or less. . . "

Tea with caffeine had the same effect, but twice as much tea was needed.

Apparently men in the study did not show the same positive effects.

The researchers' next goal is to study the relationship between caffeine consumption and Alzheimers's.

And I just remembered that I have a half uneaten box of Popeye's chicken in the den. The box is closed, and I hope the cats don't go after it. I put a towel over it.
