I'm trying to think of something even a teensy bit out of the ordinary, but so far there hasn't been much.

Because I got there early I had a fantastic parking place at Tulane. I am just about done with Susanne--I need a couple more location numbers and that will be that. The archivist got really tied up and missed me this afternoon, but she told me who could help me. So MAYBE on Thursday I'll be able to bid Susanne adieu.

It appears there are a couple of choices for my next project. Thursday when I know more about it, I'll decide.

This morning's drive was smellier than usual, and (unfortunately) I'm not talking about those delightful odors from the coffee factory.

No--it's the persistent burning smell from underground swamp fires in New Orleans east. There's not much can be done about them, and I'm almost getting used to the odor. Much less obnoxious than being near a sanitary land fill dump. The fires are yet another Katrina result.

I think I'm all set for my class tomorrow--lectures are going well and I think I'm on track time-wise.

The students have a paperlet due tomorrow. A paperlet is a page to a page and a half brief, concise (in this case) answer to a question about a reading in their text. Sometimes I give them a BBC News link and ask them to summarize and comment on the item.

I don't look forward to grading these--even though I posted how I wanted it, there will be several who didn't bother reading my "style guide."

But that's fodder for weekend blog-plaints. And I know from experience that the next papers will be a LOT better.

Now for a quick supper, then (but not immediately) early to bed.
