FINALLY Found Them

Back in early August (I'd already availed myself of the sort of automatic extension) when I started working on the 2006 Income Tax, I discovered that I had carefully filed the W-2 (and related) forms somewhere totally logical--but also totally forgettable. So, I filed for an extension. For that I had to call up the IRS site, because I never did get a booklet. And, as long as I was at that site, I copied off all the relevant pages I'd need for filing.

Well, once I had another couple of months before it was due, "finding W-2 forms" returned to the back burner.

Since tomorrow is the next deadline, today I went hunting again and this time I found them!! I'm sure I looked in that logical place before and they weren't there.

So, I am now back to getting the stupid thing done. They owe me a decent refund, so there's no problem there.

Each year I end up filing in August (except for 2005) and I've never had any hassle at all. Other than the hunt for Form 1040 et al, today has been relatively unremarkable. Lady seems to have a friendly visitor (of the feline variety). I'm betting it's a male who plans to wait around till she comes into heat.

Back in the 60s, also here in Slidell, we had a female cat who had a "hunting buddy." He'd come over and "call for" her and off they'd go into the woods. I'm sure he was also waiting for her to come into heat. Very patiently.

Back now to pondering the tax prep. And watching the Saints this evening. I won't be able to do both simultaneously, because it's really hard to write with all your fingers crossed.
