Here it is, 4:30 in the afternoon, and somehow the afternoon has disappeared.

I did grocery shopping this morning, got most of the stuff inside and in its proper place, then I settled down to watch the Saints while I read the Sunday paper. The Saints were not doing well when I dozed off. When I woke up to a ringing telephone two other teams were playing.

The phone call was from my long-time friend in California,. We gabbed for a goodly length of time. She's got the same cell service as I do, so it didn't run up phone bills.

After the call I looked at the sky, which was not sunny any more. I had planned to do some yard work, so I went to check on the weather map on the computer.

And the landline phone rang. Naturally, it was a survey, but this was a Gallup Poll thing. The peson doing the calling was in Nebraska, but was from New Orleans.

And the weather map? Rain, lots of it, in sight.

So, no yard work this afternoon. Instead, I started some laundry. (I know it's time to take care of that little matter when I am about out of clean drawers!)

So here it is, almost 5 PM, and I am still trying to figure out where the day went.
