or--getting the *#%@** grading done. For under $20.

First, there was the coffee and the absolutely sinfully delicious giant capucchino chocolate chip muffin. That lasted me through the relatively easy grading part--the multiple guess.

Then it was lunchtime. The turkey sandwich with cranberry something sauce, and another cup of coffee.

Finally, as my enthusiasm was starting to sag, another cup of coffee and another ccc muffin. (Those things are REALLY good.)

I do believe I have finished the grading. Now I have to calculate the grades, then post them online.

And they aren't due till the 17th!

When I got home I found a package on my back step. It was from Cat Claws (catclaws.com) and had a toy for my cats. It looks sort of like a whale and has a great semi-scratchy surface. From the way CC was rubbing it, I'm assuming it's been liberally laced with catnip. She thinks it's GREAT. It's shaped to be a bed, a scratch post, and--if the cat is small enough--a tunnel. It's really great to have a cat toy received so enthusiastically. Usually what humans think will please cats doesn't.

Last night I had a pair of possums come to the dinner bar. They looked up at me (I was looking out the window) and continued about their business. There's probably a newsletter out in the woods about the new eatery.

And then this morning Lady had a visitor. I assume it was a he--they have a tendency to hang around female cats until they come in heat. And they don't seem to realize that that will be never for a lot of the queens.

He's a stumpy, with tigerish markings. He didn't come near me, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's feral. My neighbor has also seen him(?) around.

My big project for the coming week is to try to catch up on things that sort-of need doing, but which I didn't have time (or inclination) to do during the semester.

And I need to visit the nail salon--once again my toenails are approaching the length needed to grip a tree limb.

And I shall leave you with that mental picture.
