Tomorrow is the first of the Carnival parades in Slidell. That translates as the main route through town will be pretty much closed down on Sundays for however many weeks it takes to get to a couple of days before Ash Wednesday. And there is also an evening parade on one of the Fridays.

You don't "catch" a parade by yourself, and anyway I wouldn't be able to stand around that long--waiting for it arrive and then while it meanders along. It was fun, though, when I was younger.
