The football game this evening is probably the collegiate equivalent of the Super Bowl.

And it's here in New Orleans. Today I saw a LOT of people wearing purple and/or gold--LSU's colors. There are HUGE crowds in tailgating and party areas.

I went to the chiropractor today and many of the staff were wearing LSU T-shirts. And I noticed a lot of people on the street were also wearing appropriate colors.

I haven't seen too much of Ohio State, but they are definitely all over the French Quarter and the area between that and the Superdome.

Normally, I don't root for LSU--we are a University of New Orleans family, with a total of six degrees from there. But Katrina definitely cemented the feelings of being a Louisianian and so in this instance I shall root vigorously for LSU.

And, when I stop to count, I've lived more than half my life in Slidell, and if you count just adult life it's higher. As the saying goes, I've birthed one and buried two here in Slidell.

On to other topics--I do believe the cold spell has run its course. May it continue to be balmy during the day. Tomorrow I'll be working at the Women's Center, and two more days this week. I finished a collection last Friday so I expect to start a new one tomorrow. I'll work two other days this week, but I haven't decided which ones yet.

I'll close with a quote from Heidi Fleiss, courtesy of my Wild Words from Wild Women (hereinafter referred to as WWFWW) calendar.

"I think it's unfair that men put laws on a woman's body . . . I think a woman has a right to choose with her own body. I mean, I don't think prostitution is a career . . . but maybe [it is] a little stepping stone."
