And I got there well before 8 AM. I barely noticed the beep beep when the next person arrived around 9.

This current collection is like reading a book that has fallen apart and been put back together haphazardly. So far I know that the subject has been divorced and has had 2 or 3 children. But as yet only the first has appeared.

And so far there are just the beginnings of tension between her and her husband. I think child number two came about four years after child number one. And at this point I'm asking myself "can this marriage last long enough to produce two children?"

I have most of the correspondence between her and her mother sorted by date and by who wrote whom.

There are LOTS of pictures, and I am about out of archival materials for storing them. I found the catalog that has the things I need, so I headed upstairs to tell the secretary about these needs. After a couple of conversations I learned that the secretary doesn't have the magic card to pay for an order, but the librarian does. When I talked to her we concluded that I should tell "S" what I need, because she also works with archives (not processing, but keeping track of where things are.) I will eventually end up with the items.

Okay. Glad that's clear.

When I arrived home this evening Lady was on the gate watching for me. Emma appeared just as I was parking my car. Lady hissed at her slightly. Emma just looked at her. I petted both cats, then went inside to feed the inside beasties. Emma was waiting for me (and food) right by the door. She rubbed and purred and started eating.

And I put too much dry food out there again, so I expect that my wild visitors will have to clean that up overnight.

I don't know how I can be so careless!!

It's nice to know that for the next five or six weeks there will be no pre-ordained interruptions in my weekly "routines." I don't think there are any more holidays that close the university until Easter.

I finished reading A Mind of its Own at lunch. I guess I'll take Kyra with me tomorrow. (I shall also recommend that the library add it to their collection.)

New Orleans is gearing up for the NBA All-Star game this (?) weekend. Lots of players and fans coming into the city, and many of them are doing some volunteer work while they're here. And it won't be long before the college kids on spring break show up also.

And that's it for today.
