Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Technically, an aluminum roof, and it wasn't hot.

I heard a mew from on high and spotted Emma sitting on the patio cover at the garage. She looked extremely proud of herself for finding this truly super lookout spot.

It wasn't hard to figure out how she'd gotten there--there's a tree at the corner of the garage.

The boy cat is getting bolder, bit by bit. He sat and watched me read the paper from about 25 feet away. And when I went in I put some dry food on the top step.

My neighbor stopped to chat this morning. It's a good thing our street doesn't get much traffic, because she just stopped her car and we effectively blocked the road. She said Emma is spending more and more time there. (I wonder if it's the wet food she gives her?) Anyway, she continues to keep the old dog company.

The azalea by my mailbox is about 7 ft. tall and 8 ft. wide. And in very full bloom with the "traditional" reddish purple flowers. There's another one on that side of the street which is also blooming vigorously. My neighbor was admiring them. They planted a couple in their front yard, but they haven't gotten nearly as big as mine.

I told her that the first four azaleas were planted in 1976, and there probably aren't any that are less than 15 to 20 years old.

After lunch I went to PJ's and read--and made lists of books to investigate. First I'll see if they're in the NCCROW library. If not, I'll see what used copies are selling for online.

I can't call this an IUD--not with a cat on the roof.
