BYD (Beloved Younger Daughter) managed to e-mail and talk me through downloading and installing a spam filter.

And she did most of this while fixing macaroni and cheese for four little girls.

And, for the first time in a while, I was able to log on and not be bothered by Win AntiVirus Pro Alert 2007. It was quietly driving me nuts. By the time I got it clicked out of the way, close to ten minutes would have elapsed.

The icon is still there, but I don't have to wait 5 - 10 minutes for it to cover what I want to be working on while it does who knows what.

That was my afternoon.

I'd planned on yard work, but just as I got involved with the computer stuff it began to rain. Guess I'll try to do double yard work tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I shall keep my fingers crossed that this fix will have really fixed it.

My other "project" for the day was to replace the flea collars on the girl cats with reflective ones, on Fabian with a regular one, and then use the anti-flea droplets on all of them.

The cats were not appreciative of my efforts.

While I waited for the new program to load itself I started reading Coroner's Journal - Stalking Death in Louisiana, by Louis Cataldie. So far I'm finding it extremely interesting. He starts the book with a description of his work in the southwestern part of Louisiana post-Rita. Rita came a month or so after Katrina in 2005.

I like the book, but I also want to finish the Turtledove book I started last week. And then there are a couple of women's history books that I want to order so that I can read them at my own pace and mark them up if I want to. I have a B&N discount coupon that expires today, so I'd better get that order in soon. Really soon.

My toe talons also need clipping, and Monday is a slow day at the nail place.

There's a lot of "ought to" for tomorrow, but my next opportunity for the toes won't be until Friday, and the weekends get pretty busy there. So I guess that goes near the top of tomorrow's to-do list.

I spotted Lady on the roof of the patio cover attached to the garage. That gives her one really good view of the neighborhood. She gets there via a red-tip bush that we trimmed into a tree. All she has to do is scamper up the slanted trunk. Getting down is no probblem either--not with the tree/bush right there.

I won't rest easy for a couple of days, but I think my computer problems may have been alleviated.

Cross fingers please.
