Very Nice Day

YD invited me over there to go out with her husband and (adorable) daughter (YGD). It was a very nice outing. YGD definitely knows who I am and my relationship to her mother.

I met the new cats--two little boys who like to play with each other and tolerate YGD. Things seem to have worked out just fine for Emma, who now considers herself a permanent resident next door, where she has a dog to take care of and lots of feline company.

This evening I noticed that TomTom "snuck" onto the porch and scarfed up some of the wet food. If my girls don't eat it right away, why shouldn't he? So far, TomTom has limited himself to the front porch.

The interesting part will come tomorrow morning, when I try to corral the girls for the visit from the vet. Fabian is no problem--he'll probably be under a bed or something. The vet has hauled him out from under a bed before, and is used to having to capture some of his patients.

I stopped to make groceries on the way home--needless to say, WalMart was not particularly crowded. I also noted that gas at the Shell (with the car wash) is currently $3.65, but it's $3.45ish at Sam's Club.

I found myself mentioned in the paper today--in a piece about the high school art work on display at the coffee shop I frequent. Not only was I mentioned and "quoted," there was a picture. I was described as a "Xavier professor."

Today cannot be described as "unremarkable" but it was definitely a VERY pleasant day.
