Except this one got really sweaty. It was late morning before I got around to the weeding of the day, and by the time I finished with that I was soaked.

An excellent reason for a shower, including washing hair.

And then I headed out for the AC, coffee, and goody at PJ's.

Luck was with me--I got some reading done, and then my new friend (former teacher, now lawyer, currently cramming for the bar exam in July to license her in Louisiana) stopped for coffee and we conversed for a while.

By the time I got home it had started cooling down a bit. The cats were, of course, telling me that they were on the verge of starvation (excuse me, but there's a big container of dry food in the hall). I fed them, then filled the ice chest with some dog biscuits for my masked friends. Later in the evening I'll refill the dishes on the top step with dry cat food for the skinny-tailed visitors. They are very thorough eaters--not a crumb is left when they're done.

I plan on going in to work tomorrow, and leaving nice and really early so I can put in more than the usual time. It's quiet, it's cool, and I can get a lot done.
