Top of my to-do list for today was Feet. And so I got out to the nail salon at WalMart about 9:45. They were just getting going there.

About an hour later I was done, so I grabbed a shopping cart and got some of the stuff I forgot the other day, and stuff I'd realized I need since then.

Somehow, critter food was at the top of the list, but flashlights and batteries weren't far behind.

I like to have a flashlight near at hand in every room. Now I'm back to that, and they all work.

Last night was one of really lousy sleep and after I got back home my body made up for it with an extended nap. So much for getting stuff done around the house.

Gas was still in the $3.85 range.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes has a very interesting column in this week's Catholic Register. I find Sister Joan Chittister's columns very thought-provoking, and today I discovered Estes' work. She talks about the lack of mental care for the returning soldiers.

Tomorrow it's back to work. And I hope the summer rains (often torrential downpours) go elsewhere tomorrow.
