Let's see . . .

Got out of the house by 9 AM to go to the one drugstore in town that is handling the shingles stuff. By the time they went through the paperwork (since I don't usually go there for anything) and got the stuff ready it was past 9:30. GULP!! My Plan didn't cover it. I'm not complaining--my drug plan (on the catastrophic insurance that goes with spousal benefits) pays out lots and lots for the regular meds.

They gave me the stuff in a styrofoam coffee container. It has to stay frozen till just before use. And I headed off to my doctor, who is, of course, on the other side of town.

I had hardly any wait, and the shot itself was subcutaneous. About five minutes after getting there I left.

And went to PJ's, where I read and had coffee and a day-old muffin. The day-olds are saran-wrapped and only a dollar. They're $2.50 fresh.

It was lovely and peaceful there, and around lunch time I had a breakfast pannini. I finally left some time after 3 PM. I made a good amount of progress in the current geek book, and also read some more in a birthday gift book. I need to finish that one tonight so I know exactly how a decent ending comes about. The heroine just recently made it back into human form, after being trapped in a mink's body by the baddie.

The mail had another historical mystery that I'd ordered. I think I learned about the author from Eric--it's published by Poisoned Pen Press.

I'm probably jinxing the neighborhood, but (so far) there have been no fireworks set off prematurely. (New Year's Eve is the big time for that.) Of course, there aren't any young kids here--they've all grown up and gotten married.

Back to the book.
