And at the moment my body is telling me it wants a nap.

Well, body, if you had done a better job of letting me sleep last night you wouldn't be needing sleep again so early in the evening.

I got in to work early and put in a fairly productive day. About mid-afternoon it started to cloud over, so I checked the weather radar and decided to head for home.

I shut the door to my car just as the heavens opened up.

And then I noticed a long crack in the windshield on the passenger side. (Insert your favorite obscenities here.) All I can think of as a cause is a very large and noisy piece of equipment that went up and down the street several times today. The road is theoretically paved and has a small neutral ground (strip between the thisaway and thataway lanes) so it probably wasn't triggered by a passing car.

I guess tomorrow I'll call the insurance people. The last time I needed a windshield replaced they came to the house to do it. And managed to transfer the inspection and the change-the-oil stickers.

Work is coming along nicely--today I got one of the permanent boxes filled. All the files are now in archival (acid-free) folders and are labeled with everything except their collection number.

Have I mentioned that it is summer, and vacation time? I think there were only three people upstairs today--the secretary, the part time assistant archivist, and the publicity/computer guru. The archivist wasn't there, and her door was locked so I couldn't look for the book with the unused collection numbers.

No matter--I'll eventually make contact with the right person at the right time and get those.

The windshield is a definite ohdrat (or something similar.)

It appears that the rain has stopped! Hope it stays stopped.
