aka Gulf Coast Women's History Conference.

Two attendees--one from about 50 miles to the east, the other from about 50 miles to the west.

Location: Arby's on I-40 something in Gulfport.

It's been two years or so since our last meeting, and it was good to see the other "attendee."

We talked for about five hours, interspersed with eating, and we more or less got caught up on each others' personal and professional lives.

When I got home I discovered that the parish had trimmers out and had cut back some of the jungle on the strip of parish property across the street from me.

In the process they took out a couple of azaleas and a crepe myrtle, but they were all so overgrown with vines etc that this is probably the best solution. If I can get it cut back a bit more--and weeded--I can put in some new plants next spring. And put up decorative fencing so that they realize it's not all weedy growth.

My cats were, of course, glad to see me, although I was gone from home less than on a regular work day. They pointed out that they'd kept the dinosaurs away. And if they brought any of their little friends in to play, they didn't leave any messes.

All in all, today was most certainly NOT an IUD.
