The Olympics provide a fantastic alternative to Saturday morning cartoons and other drivel.

They are also an excellent way to waste a large part of the day, what with something different going on each time you glance up from the book you are reading.

Between having a really good night's sleep (sleeping till almost 9 am) and wanting to finish the last book in the Dante Valentine series (To Hell and Back) I didn't get a whole lot accomplished today. I remembered to turn off the garage light before my neighbor called me about it. I cleaned out cat boxes. (One would think that being able to go in and out at will, the cats would use the Great Outdoors. I guess they do for the liquid, but they are using the cat boxes for the solid stuff. Go figure.)

I did do some grocery etc. shopping in the late afternoon. Mostly groceries--WalMart is so messed up with their remodeling that it's too much trouble to try to find the etc. any more.

I'm hoping that I wake up early enough tomorrow that I can get a fair amount of yardwork done before the heat gets to me. My main project tomorrow will be trimming back over-enthusiasatic bushes by the driveway. Second priority is to continue pulling stuff on the "off" side of the house.

And now it's time to finish that book.
