A Funny Feeling

I haven't felt this way for several months.

I'm not sweaty, I'm not seeking a fan's breeze--in fact I've turned one off. I'm checking to see where the light afghan is.

I'm cool! Environment-wise. (I'm too old to be cool any other way.)

I got a nice early start in to work this morning. There was a bit of rain and the traffic was not moving at its usual 75 - 80. But I got to Tulane just a bit before 7, so the key word (trafficwise) was moving.

I had to hunt a bit to find my chair and work cart, but I did and settled down to working the collection.

I spent today sorting through clippings about LSU and its management etc. I am getting them in chronological order and, in the process, giving myself memory checks as to who was running what school in the LSU system.

Whenever I looked out the windows this morning it looked to be raining. But by mid-afternoon the rain had stopped and I had a nice easy drive home.

My mail carrier didn't stop today--I had a bunch of mail in the box and the flag up. The flag was still up when I got home and the outgoing mail still in its plastic bag. Very annoying.

I checked the phonebook but no address is given for this place. However, its telephone number used to be my computer number. I tried callinag once and it is no longer in service.

I've found it's easy to tell if mail for me is courtesy of a purchased list or not. If it has me listed by my first name, maiden name, and married name--it's junk mail. The only place I'm listed that way is on my driver's license and voter registration. (When we moved here Louisiana was adamant about how a married woman was to be listed.)

Tomorrow morning I see the dentist for the semi-annual cleaning and checkup. Not really my idea of fun and excitement, but I like the people there.

Maybe I'll get lucky and it will rain after that, so I hae an excuse to put off yard work.

But it's nice to be not-sweaty.
