Lovely day, that is.

And last night was cool enough that one cat wanted body warmth.

Of course, having a cat curled up on you sort of restricts nighttime position shifts, but the kinks work themselves out quickly enough in the morning.

Not what you could call a very productive day, although I got some more reading done in the Sara Evans book when I was at PJ's.

But, even better, I had a nice chat with another woman I've chatted with before. I don't think either of us know each other's name, but eventually we will, I suppose.

Wait!!! I did Productive Activity this morning. I took the papers and pulled weeds back to the pool and dumped them. I saw one turtle during this process. It's a big one.

Then I started pulling at stuff overhanging the sidewalk, and by the time I got back to the patio the trash barrel was half full again. I'll mosh it down before I start any more weeding so it will hold more.

I hate dewberries. They manage to prickle through coated work gloves and they love to attack ankles and twine themselves around. This is not exactly fun when I am not wearing socks. Or long pants.

I do NOT plan to watch the "debates" this evening. The only positive thing about them is that the two canadidates are knowledgeable about what they're supposed to be knowledgeable about.

The same is definitely not true of the vice presidential candidates. The bumper sticker I ordered a few days ago came today. It says "Obama - Biden" on the top line. And the next line (in slightly smaller print) it says "Two Minds are Better than None." Since I'm going to tape it to the inside of a car window I can always position it so that the second line isn't visible if I chicken out on the negative advertising bit.

So, the first day of my three day weekend is gone. I've done some stuff, but there is always more. Time to find a new book to read, since TV tonight is taken up by campaigning.
