It's the last month of 2008. Time certainly does fly, the older one gets.

Today was a work day, and I plugged my phone in to the car charger, since it was down to about one bar. By the time I got to work it was up to three bars, but back down to one (even though I didn't use it) when I left.

Needless to say, the Verizon store was a stop on the way home. The young woman checked it out, looked up the information, said the battery didn't seem too good, but I was in warranty so she could snap a new one in.

Let's hope the problem is solved. I'll know in a day or so.

At work I finished the last carton of Elizabeth's things. I'll type the inventories at home, e-mail them to the archivist, and she can decide whether to print out copies for the cartons themselves--two of which don't have acid-free covers.

I'll go back in on Thursday. I have a chiropractor appointment on Wednesday and a bunch of stuff I ought to be doing tomorrow.

I found a book I needed for my geek reading at the library and checked it out.

I have a bar code stuck on a Tulane card. Not your regular library card, but I get borrowing privileges for three reasons--I wrote that letter (about preserving records), I put in a lot of volunteer hours, and I am a Friend of Newcomb. That last translates as "regular donor." The Newcomb librarian thinks that barcode will work at the Tulane library also. I may stop by there one day, hope I recognize one of the librarians from my student days, and find out if I really do have borrowing privileges there.

If not, and I really want to check out a book, I rather imagine that can be finagled.

While chatting with the librarian (Newcomb) she said she was ordering YD's book for her library! After all, YD is a local woman writer.

And to go with the opening Ye Gads--I got two holiday cards in the mail--and a Yule gift--a gorgeous We-Moon calendar.

So Happy December or whatever.
