It happened this afternoon at PJ's--a woman spotted me and came over like a long-lost friend. I did recognize her last name, but I could not recall the context in which I knew her. Three possibilities came to mind--Girl Scouts, swimming, and church. I'm almost postive it wasn't the last. If I get really curious I can dig through stuff and maybe see if it was swimming. But I don't think I'm that curious.

It was a fairly long conversation--mostly on her part.

After she left I went back to chatting with another "regular," and he was nice enough to signal me when she came back in the door with something else to say.

I have lived in the same place now for more than 32 years. That's longer than I ever lived anywhere else by a long shot. The longer I live here the more likely it is that someone will recognize me.

I guess it's good to be rememberable--as long as I can fake my side of the "you of course remember everything about me" conversation.

Tomorrow I see the chiropractor for my quarterly "tune-up." My hair also needs washing and I am currently reviewing the merits of doing that tonight versus tomorrow morning. (The latter is winning out so far.)

Other than the note from Jette that got me to sign up again for Holidailies and the conversation with the person whose reason for knowing me is still a mystery, it's been a more or less "normal" day for around here.
