Nothing much going on--just the usual household stuff.

In the afternoon I headed for PJ's, where I give myself no option except to read geek stuff. At the moment it's Sumerian goddesses and female roles. This is preliminary to "what happened to the goddesses?" as civilization developed. It's rather intriguing--at least to me. And it is related to the development of civilization itself.

I did a little yard work today--I took the rolling trash barrel with me as I headed for the mail box. By the time I was about 2/3 of the way there it was pretty well filled with stuff I'd recently clipped and weeds in general. If I continue to weed my way to (and from) the mail box, I may start to feel in control of the yard.

And now I need to go to the post office and mail YGD's birthday present. The main post office in town has one of those automated stations in the lobby. It will weigh the package and then sell me the correct postage--in return for either cash or a credcit card. I wish the post office near me had the same set-up.
