I got a letter today from my spendthrift Uncle telling me that, because I am a very nice person, he will be putting an extra $250 into my checking account next month.

I am quite sure he hopes that I will spend not just that $250 but will use it as a down payment on something that will give the finance agencies outrageous interest charges.

Heaven forbid that I should put it in the bank where it will earn me interest at substantially less than 1% per annum.
