It's still brightly sunlit outside--how can it be almost 5:30?

Oh yeah--that cosmic control fetish called DST.

I think today ranks extremely high on the IUD list. I left the house once--to go get the mail and paper. I did, however, read them outside, enjoying the now-leafy trees all around me. It's hard to believe that only two weeks ago the tree that is now fully clad in green leaves had those small, reddish leaf buds opening.

I have to go into New Orleans tomorrow, but not to work. Hope the dryish weather holds, and that the highway department has things going smoothly on the new Interstate twin bridges. The process of building two new three-lane bridges adjacent to the two-lane I-10 bridges messed up by Katrina is almost at an end. When the first of the new spans opened YD and I both wanted to check it out. I have no curiosity about the opening of the other span. The trickiest part has been constructing the new approaches and linkages.

I suppose I should watch the news to see if the world is ending tomorrow. If that's the case, I can forget about running the vacuum around and washing the dirty dishes in the sink.
