To keep old things operating reasonably efficiently one must tend to them every once in a while.

Personal bodily maintenance today consisted of taking my sore tail back to the doctor. He appeared to be pleased.

That's nice, but when will I be able to sit more comfortably?

He'll look at it again in a month. I really really hope it's all healed up by then.

When I went to schedule the appointment I was told that I already had an appointment scheduled for about that time. OK--this is the six-month thingy.

And, once I was done with the appointment and a quick stop at Walgreen's for some prescription renewals I'd called in, I headed for Car Guy.

I had about a 15 minute wait, but since I (almost) never leave the house without a book to read it was not a problem--especially since the waiting area is air conditioned.

When he reached a good stopping point in what he was doing he drove me home.

I am crossing fingers that he'll be able to get it running again fairly quickly and relatively cheaply.

Spots has lost his collar. Unfortunately I put it on my mental shopping list (rather than writing it down and remembering to check said list) and forgot to get him a new one when I was at Walgreen's. I'll dig around the house some more and see if I can find anything.

The oil incursions continue along increasingly large parts of the Louisiana coast and marshlands.

Maybe I should buy oyster futures, in case it becomes a really bad scenario. But if I did that I wouldn't want to sell the futures--even for a large profit--but eat the oysters.

Think good thoughts about my car please--especially that it gets fixed quickly.

And about our coastline, wetlands, and marshes.
