Yes, today we had the sky leaking off and on. That freed me from trying to decide whether or not to do some yard work.

A bit after lunch it looked as though it would stay at least 2/3 decent long enough for me to get to Sam's Club for a giant box of trash can liners--heavy duty. The last box finally ran out, and when I used a "regular" liner the ties at the top almost snapped as I was tying it closed.

I use just one a week, for the most part, so this is not excatly a recurring item on the shopping list.

Once in there, of course, I found other items I desparately needed (yeah, right) and so the trash can liners cost me over $60.

I must have been living right, because the rain waited till I had everything loaded in the car before starting.

I also stopped at WalMart for more critter food and a couple of other things.

How's that for an exciting day!!

The weather radar looks like we'll be having more rain off and on.

BP oil is getting closer and closer to the Gulf beaches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. It will be interesting to hear what Obama has to say this evening.

The part of this that bothers me is that the situation is foreign to most of the country's population. If you've grown up inland occurrences like this are totally out of your personal experience, just as ice storms, sub-zero temperatures, and blizzards are just meteorological terms to many in the Deep South.

So, today has, so far, been Incredibly Unremarkable. Tomorrow will no doubt be more of the same. I'll be glad when we get out of this rain probabilty/possibility.

On the other hand, the cats are really friendly when it's wet outside.
