It hasn't rained (yet) today, so at the moment it's definitely a bit toasty, temperature-wise. On the other hand, there's been a halfway decent cloud cover, which has kept the temp more or less liveable.

There are small cloud smudges on the weather radar, but I don't hold out much hope for them to "leak" this evening.

That's okay--I've got good air circulation in the house, as well as strategically-placed fans. I have a disgustingly clean conscience, so I should get to sleep easily this evening.

When I sat on the porch this afternoon to pour out the raccoon kibble, one them came up on the porch (outside the screen) and was all set to come in, till she(?) saw me. I'm sure the local wildlife connects my presence to food offerings, but (thank goodness) they don't want to get up close. But it is really neat to see them sitting fairly calmly just six feet away.

Spots continues to guard the driveway during the day. He's found a shady spot where there is also enough accumulation of leaves etc. that he can be comfortable, and settles down to survey his domain.

The sound of the can opener breaks his concentration and he dashes inside to make sure he gets every bit of the good wet food to which he considers himself entitled.

This evening will be spent with Sherri Tepper, with mindless TV in the background.
