That's what I just told my Calico Cutie, as she tried to take over the space on the table where the keyboard usually sits.

The thing is--I have a sinking feeling that the air conditioning compressor on my window unit may have just died. With three more hot months ahead, give or take the last week or so in September.

Anyway, today was a household day. I got all sorts of stuff done, such as the monthly outgo items, and got my checkbook caught up.

Other than walking to the mail/paper boxes I spent the entire day at home.

I did take a short nap after lunch, which gave me a good excuse for not doing yard stuff--by then it was too hot.

I may yet take a short trip away from the house and take all that mail to the post office, rather than let it wait till Monday when it can get picked up by the carrier. Unless, of course, that's a belated Fourth of July holiday.

If tomorrow is like today--halfway decent weatherwise--I may yet get some of the yard worked on.

(Oooh!! Just tried the AC again and it's pumping cool air. Maybe I'm living right after all.)

The fireworks stand on the road to WalMart etc. seems to be fairly busy. They're open for only a week or ten days, unlike before New Year's, when they're open for two weeks. I'll probably start hearing some set off in the neighborhood this evening, or tomorrow afternoon. But the big "noise" will be in the evening.

I got smart today and put out the raccoon chow early, and it was a good thing--Little Goldie came by shortly after I got it out.

TV doesn't look particularly interesting this evening--guess I'll let it be background as I get back to Pirate Latitudes.
