I had just finished taking the old newpaper collection out to the pool (and dumping same), then bringing the wheelbarrow back to the car to get the rest of the critter food out of it. And the new floor fan I'd bought a couple of weeks ago.

Got everything into the house that was supposed to be inside, and there was a long roll of thunder.

Five minutes later and it started raining.

Pretty good timing!

This evening I'll put the fan together, then reassemble the one that doesn't work. I'll put IT out by the street with a note on it "Free--needs work."

Maybe the person who ripped off my barrel cart will grab it. Or a trash man. The "regular" trash service comes on Wed. and Sat. (The small-scale hauler who's been taking care of us for over 25 years comes Tuesday and Friday.)

Needless to say, the cats get cuddly when there is thunder and rain. CC has never had to live outside. She was in the shelter since early kittenhood till I adopted her at age ~15 months. But Spots knows that he made a good trade when he sacrificed his manhood for regular food and a guaranteed dry place to live.

I'm still reading the Tepper book. It's a long one, with a complex plot, and if things keep me from reading in it for more than a couple of days, I have to go back and "review" the character list.

One of these days I need to find out if the streets at Newcomb are once again passable. I miss having a definite place to go and things to do. And being around people.

Time to check the weather radar to see how long it will be drippy outside.
