My new glasses came in!!

And I got myself to WalMart fairly early this morning to pick them up.

I am slightly aware of a change in what I see, but the optometrist wouldn't have prescribed new lenses if there hadn't been a noticeable change.

I figure that in about a week the difference between my sunglasses and the new ones will be bugging me, and I'll go get new lenses for the shades. (And probably new frames also.)

I talked to the newspaper people this morning and managed to be quite reasonable. The person seemed to understand the problem regarding identification when phoning in a missed delivery. I'm not sure if I'm getting a credit, but that's incredibly minor.

This afternoon I managed to stay home--my appointment in New Orleans got changed to a telephone conference.

At the moment I plan to go in to the Women's Center again tomorrow and resume the examination of the lives and activities of the DeBakey women.

I had some reason to go to the living room a bit ago and there were two raccoons on the porch happily eating the dry cat food I'd put out. They looked up at me, then went back to eating. I also tossed several handfuls of cheap dog biscuits onto the covered patio.

The path from my patio to the neighbor's fence and wooded area is getting quite visible.

Guess I'd better go read so as to get my eyes fully acclimated to the changed prescription.
