It's getting colder now--the furnace has been cycling on somewhat more frequently than usual today.

And the cats have been staying inside where it's warm. I'm quite sure Spots will be cuddled up against me tonight.

I'm the winner on that, heatwise. A cat's "normal" temperature is about 101F.

About mid-afternoon I felt a bit lonely, so I called a friend in California and we chatted for quite a while. Gotta love cell phones. Fortunately I had her number in the phone's memory.

The evening football game got cancelled due to extraordinarily lousy weather in Philadelphia (I think). It wasn't the players they were concerned about (football games played outdoors show you are tough) but the condition of the roads. The network must have been really scrambling to find fill-in stuff. They have (optimistically) postponed it just till tomorrow (or Tuesday?) evening. I cannot remember any other time a football game got postponed because of weather.

My plans for tomorrow are for an IUD. Bookkeeping (and does anyone know another regular English word with three consecutive double letters?) will consume the morning as I make sure I've got all the December stuff taken care of.

And I plan to stay away from WalMart as long as possible to avoid the lines created by people making exchanges and getting refunds.

Once we get past the calendar change things will be back to usual--or a close facsimile thereof.

2011 here we come.
