And, since the days have just started getting longer, I'll get all symbolic and have the written part the bright spot in a sea of darkness.

(Oh is that ever a bunch of B.S.)

Whatever.

I don't remember whether I was awake or asleep when it officially "became" 2011.

The cats and I spent a quiet evening at home, basically without serious interruptions.

Today was one of general sloth--which is bad if you go by "what you do on the first day of the year will set the pattern for the next 364" school of thought.

I went out in the late mid-afternoon for miscellaneous stuff (Walgreen's had a good coupon for Cup of Soup), but began it with lunch/lupper at Arby's.

They have some of the nicest people working there--and the food is good and Not Greasy. If they are not piled up at the counter (and at the hour I usually go there they aren't) they'll carry my tray to the table. Guess they figure that I'm more likely to drop it and make a mess by carrying it one-handed while I use the cane. (Little do they know that my years as a dorm waitress and Howard Johnson's employee trained me well in Tray Carrying.)

Tomorrow YD and I will be "in that number" at the Saints game.

The Saints will be in the playoffs, but I don't think they will get home field advantage--at least not in the first round, and probably not at all. Any unused (because the game wasn't played at home) tickets go against next season's tickets.

I wonder which cats will share heat tonight.
