Definitely a winter day--Deep South style.

Much better than High Latitude/High Altitude Wyoming where it would stay below zero fahrenheit for a couple of weeks solid.

I tried to focus on inside activities today, except that I did have to trundle the trash barrel the 150 ft. to the road for tomorrow's pickup.

My furnace is happily burning up dead dinosaurs. Even so, the cats have decided this is cuddle-close weather. And--they are required by the Secret Cat Code to sit on top of the floor registers when the hot air is coming out.

Now that Christmas has passed we can all get ready for Carnival--and the parades that go with it.

According to my calendar, March 8 is Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) so it will probably be about three or four weeks till parades begin.

The parish was out on my street today cleaning ditches. The only problem with that is that each time they do this they chip off a bit more of the solid area adjacent to the road. In other words, there is not even a tire's width of solid ground before it slopes steeply into the ditch.

I may stop by the maintenance barn and politely comment on that situation. (One day when I have nothing better to do, that is.)

So--another IUD has come and gone.

(But I have VERY cuddly cats.)
