I managed to get my BP prescriptions today, and part of that process was a lovely lunch (at Olive Garden) with a long-time friend.

How?

Very simple--I called up said friend, told her I needed a lift to Walgreen's, and how would she like to have lunch out. The last might be considered a dumb question, because it's been a while since we've killed an afternoon chatting and/or eating out.

We probably spent more than an hour at Olive Garden. Their soup and salad lunch was delicious and we got there about 30 minutes before the lunch crowd.

We got acquainted through Bayou Belles (a women's chorus) and Slidell Little Theatre roughly thirty years ago. Bayou Belles bit the dust when the director's husband was transferred to Florida. And since I went back to school (in the mid-80s) the theatre has also bitten the dust for me.

I now have enough meds to keep my body healthy, and enough socialization and conversation to last me for several days at least.

Tomorrow I'll probably ask my next door neighbor to let me tag along if she goes to WalMart over the weekend. I think I've got 4 or 5 cans of cat food still in the cupboard, so I don't have to worry about becoming dinner for the beasties for a few days at least.

So, today was definitely NOT an IUD--lunch with a long-time friend makes for special day.
