My Incredibly Unremarkable Life
A Journal (more or less)

Today ranks as a stupendously unremarkable day.

In fact, about the only "excitement" came when I heard the fire engine coming down the street. However, it turned off to go into the subdivision between me and the highway--the same subdivision that had the double murder a month or so ago.

Even though my street is distinctly on the narrow side, the fire engines can get out to the highway much faster using it, rather than staying on the "main" streets and having to cope with much heavier traffic and traffic lights.

So how did I spend my day? Tidying up a bit, taking a nap, retrieving the mail and the paper.

The mail had a lovely invitation to a luncheon sponsored by the Women's Center. I figure I rated an invite either because of my (volunteer) work there, and/or because I am a regular $$ donor. I shall definitely accept.

I have fed the menagerie, even though the masked ones and the skinny-tailed ones were not (yet) looking starving and pitiful. When the raccoons beg, they look like they are asking politely and giving a thank-you nod.

The marsupials (being lower on the development ladder) tend to just scoot over to the food and start scarfing it down.

The cat who invited himself into the household justs sits there and watches them all. Of course, they probably told him about the free critter kitchen I seem to be running...

Guess it's about time to watch the news and try to figure out what is what with Egypt.
