It's been a somewhat different day.

For one thing, the annual telephone conference with my money manager. I am totally satisfied with her work--and would recommend her highly.

We also caught up on personal lives etc.

And then I took myself out to the WalMart area for some stuff from WalMart. Once again, critter food was on the list. But I also found some screening for assorted repairs, a salad for this evening's supper, and a few other things.

On the way out I remembered that I needed to gas up, so I made a quick turn into Sam's gas station. The car deserved a treat, so I added a car wash onto the gas bill.

And then there was a tiny problem.

The car had had a preliminary rinse, and first soaping. A new instruction showed up on the info board. Because of the soapiness, I had to open the window somewhat to see what it was saying.

The shower I got was rather refreshing, but I could have done without it.

So I have a car with a full tank of gas, a clean exterior, and a damp t-shirt that is keeping me nicely cooled.

And now for an update with the parking thing.

I got a very nice note from the Dean of Newcomb. She's fairly new, and when she arrived last fall she wanted to meet with me, probably to see how I might fit into the Newcomb picture.

**(correction: she's executive director of Newcomb College Institute)

I think that the problem will be resolved in a manner which satisfies most everyone.

And I am very glad, because I really enjoy what I am doing there. Nothing like positive feedback as a "reward."

I hope y'all are feeling as good (and appreciated) about yourselves as I am--what with Newcomb going to bat for me.

I expect I'll be back at work on Monday.
